Tomorrow is April Fools Day. The Barney’s Womens Spring Look Book just got delivered to my door. And the end of March is already here so I thought I’d share some of my favorite products of the month.
Revlon Photo Ready Concealer $10.99 //Ulta & Drugstores
I never thought I would love a drug store Concealer so much. My #1 favorite concealer is still Cle De Peau Concealer, however, this one takes a close 2nd and for 1/6th the price! I find myself reaching for it for my every day covering dark circles and brightening under my eyes. It also works as a natural matte highlight between the brows and bridge of the nose. That way I can save my Cle De Peau for extra special make up days. I love the creamy demi matte easily blendable, yet buildable coverage.
Hourglass Ambient Lining Powder Palette $62//Sephora
It’s hard to describe this product. It’s not a finishing powder, seting powder, highlighting powder- yet somehow it makes everything else about my make-up look better. It comes with 3 colors which you can swirl together into one, or use individually. The way I use this powder is as a sheer overlay over my powder products once make up is done. For instance, I’ll apply it on my cheeks over Bronzer and Blush. It softens any transitional lines there might be between shades to make everything look smoother. Is it for everyday? Maybe not, but it’s a quick extra step that makes the overall look extra gorgeous.
Tom Ford Lipstick $52//Nordstrom & Neiman Marcus
I hate that I love this lipstick so much because it is so dang expensive! The shade I’ve been reaching for lately is Velvet Violet and to be completely honest it looks IDENTICAL on the lip to MAC Rebel. (So if you’re looking for a good dupe, extra bonus!) However the formula glides on so smoothly and saturates the lip with the most gorgeous pigment and hydration. Another thing I love about Tom Ford lipstick is I’m certain it makes my lips look bigger and fuller. Would I recommend that you buy every shade? No. But a splurge on one or two shades is definitely worth it. Next time you’re at a Tom Ford Counter check out Spanish Pink, Velvet Violet, and Cherry Lush.
Make Up Forever Ultra HD Stick Foundation $43 //Sephora & Ulta
Hands down my favorite Cream Foundation I’ve tried in a while. If you have normal to dry skin, and you want medium to full coverage Foundation that doesn’t catch on dry patches, you will love this formula. It glides on the skin and sets beautifully. You can use your fingertips, beauty blender, or a foundation brush- whichever you prefer. I like that this Foundation is buildable to be used as a concealer and foundation. It makes a great travel Foundation because you can go compact. Best of all it photographs really well!
NYX Wonder Pencil $4.50 // Drugstores & Ulta
For lining the inner water line, these are perfect for gals with tan, olive, warm skin tones. I’ve always liked the look of white and cream eye liner on the inner waterline but for some reason whenever I tried it, it made me look like crazy eyes! The reason is the stark white was too much of a contrast with my skin tone. Then I discovered the NYX Wonder Pencil and that fixed everything. PROTIP: It also works really well as a lower lashline smokey eye base. Simply line your lower lash line, then smudge a darker shadow over the top. It gives a softer more subtle look than using a black liner as a base.
Chanel Le’Volume Mascara $32 // Nordstrom & Macy’s
It’s the most buildable, volumizing mascara I have ever found. If you
like separated, feathery lashes this is not the mascara for you. However if you have thin frail lashes and you like a mascara that builds and builds without getting clumpy you will love this formula. I’ve tried Diorshow and YSL Faux Cils and while I love both of those mascaras also, what I appreciate about Chanel Le’Volume is it doesn’t dry out after a month.
That’s it! My March favorites. These are the products I’ve truly been reaching for the most. When you’re out shopping this weekend, take a peek for yourself. I’m looking forward to trying all the new beautiful Spring products that are launching.
